FREE GACO Webinar: Communicating Compliance – Making Risk Make Sense

Compliance professionals possess deep technical expertise, yet one of the most persistent challenges remains ensuring that risk and regulatory messages are clearly understood, accepted, and acted upon across the wider business. Often, a message is technically correct, but fails to land because it hasn't been translated into business impact or because the tone triggers unintended defensiveness.
In this practical webinar, Hannah Shellswell, founder and Director of Boost Training & Coaching, will explore how communication strategies can help compliance professionals present complex information in a way that reduces resistance and supports better decision-making.
Drawing on her extensive background—including 15 years as a broadcast journalist and news anchor with ITV and ITN, and a further 15 years as a presentation and media coach—Hannah brings a unique perspective on how to communicate high-stakes messages with clarity and impact.
What You Will Learn?
This session introduces practical tools and frameworks designed to help you "make risk make sense" in real-world conversations. Participants will explore:
- Defining Outcomes: Moving beyond the technical "answer" to determine what success looks like for each specific conversation.
- The Perspective Shift: Understanding the commercial pressures and barriers that colleagues face to better shape your approach.
- The SACCIA Model: Insights from aviation and healthcare communication frameworks, focusing on sufficiency, accuracy, and clarity.
- The Think / Feel / Do Framework: A quick, practical tool to use before high-pressure meetings to ensure your audience knows exactly how to act on your guidance.
- Language & Delivery: How curiosity and shared ownership can reduce defensiveness and turn "no" into a collaborative discussion.
